How it is composed and how it works
Alfamatic air-oil booster MF series is a unit composed of a pneumatic cylinder and an high pressure chamber.
Supplying the pneumatic cylinder with compressed air from the line generates hydraulic pressure —depending on the model— of up to 400 bar.
The high pressure generated in the hydraulic fluid is directly proportional to the pneumatic supply pressure.
- It works without lubrication;
- Possibility to turn fluid connections around 360 degrees.

Application Examples and Connections

Single Acting Hydraulic Cylinders
With this scheme, the forward stroke of the cylinders is ensured by the MF air-oil booster
The thrust force exerted by the cylinders is proportional to the pneumatic supply pressure set for the booster.

Double Acting Hydraulic Cylinders
The forward stroke of the cylinders is ensured by the air-oil booster MF, with the thrust force exerted by the cylinders proportional to the pneumatic supply pressure set for the booster.
The return stroke is performed with the aid of the pneumatic spring present in the auxiliary oil accumulation reservoir (B).

Double Acting Hydraulic Cylinders
With approach and work in sequence
The advance stroke, ensured by the air-oil booster, is performed in two phases:
1. low pressure approach
2. high pressure work
The return stroke is performed with the aid of the pneumatic spring present in the auxiliary oil accumulation tank (B).
The force of the return stroke is adjusted by varying the air pressure in the reservoir (B).
Accessories

SN 01 Reservoir
All MF air-oil boosters models are supplied with SN 01 type external oil reservoir.
The reservoir, fixed to the cylinder hydraulic chamber, ensures the maintenance of an optimal hydraulic fluid level.
The booster can be positioned vertcally; in this case, a special fitting that ensures correct positioning of the reservoir will be needed.

SN 12 Reservoir
The optional SN 12 high capacity tank allows the MF air-oil booster to be installed in any position.
The reservoir is connected to the hydraulic chamber of the booster via a 1 mt. long high resistance metal braided hose.
The reservoir must be connected in a raised position with respect to the booster.

Fixing Flange
High resistance rear fixing flange in steel, with zinc plating surface treatment.

Foot brackets
Low foot in high resistance steel, with zinc plating surface treatment.
